Sabrina Carpenter, who is featured on title track of Taylor Swift's studio record, was heavily criticised for her new album cover of Man’s Best Friend.
Although the 26-year-old did not pay heed to the criticism at the time, Sabrina answered the most-anticipated question in her Saturday Night Live monologue.
The artwork that featured the Espresso hitmaker on her knees while a man pulled her hair raised eyebrows as many wondered if it was the singer herself suited up for the shoot.
In her monologue, the Grammy winner recalled that fans "got a little freaked out by the cover,” leaving her puzzled as she zoomed out to reveal the man out of the frame.
She poked fun at the controversy by saying it was a picture from the 50th anniversary special, featuring Bowen Yang helping her up by the hair.
After the crowd began cheering, the pop icon continued with the joke that the she fell on the floor after Martin Short shoved her out of the buffet line, saying: “Daddy needs his mini quiche.”
The Please Please Please crooner cleared up "some misconceptions people have" that she is a "corn dog pop star."
Sabrina mocked the perception that she is "not just corny, I am also turned on and sexually charged."
Previously, the Man Child singer addressed the backlash by refusing to apologise to the audience who found the art demeaning. Instead, she released an alternative cover for the record which was much more “moral.”
