An evacuation warning has been issued near Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s $14 million Montecito estate as Southern California braces for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and potential flash flooding.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office released the alert for areas surrounding the Gifford and Lake Fire Burn Scars, located just miles from the Sussexes’ luxurious home.
According to the National Weather Service, intense bursts of rain are expected to hit the region between Monday night and Tuesday afternoon, raising fears of debris flows, rockslides, and localized flooding.
Local outlet The Santa Barbara Independent reported: “Debris flows, rockslides, a potential for flooded roads and highways, and heavy traffic during the Tuesday morning commute are all part of the forecast... Residents are advised to be ready for power outages, falling trees, and localized flooding.”
