Kensington Palace has issued a statement after Prince William and Princess Kate’s surprising move.
The royal couple made an unannounced visit together to Northern Ireland.
The Prince and Princess of Wales expressed admiration for Northern Ireland’s newest emergency services.
The emergency services train hub during their visit to Cookstown in County Tyrone.
The official statement was issued on Instagram along with pictures of the couple during their visit.
The couple said it “great to be back in Northern Ireland today”.
They also mentioned that they were impressed by “a flood water rescue simulator”, which is one of the only two in the world.
“Starting with a brilliant visit to the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service’s new Learning and Development College in Cookstown. A world-class facility helping to train the next generation of firefighters.” the caption stated.
“It was inspiring to see trainee and newly qualified firefighters in action”, the statement read.
The heir apparent observed trainees and newly qualified firefighters performing emergency simulations.
The two also spoke to the staff about the new facility and how it has enhanced safety and collaboration across emergency services.
