What Prince William's subtle nod to Prince Harry actually means

Prince William’s rare mention of Prince Harry during his emotional TV appearance has sparked new speculation, but one royal expert says there’s a simple explanation behind it.

The Prince of Wales, 43, opened up like never before on Eugene Levy’s Apple TV+ series The Reluctant Traveller, where he discussed his family life, the impact of King Charles and Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnoses, and his plans to modernize the monarchy.

While William largely avoided discussing his estranged brother, he briefly said: “I hope we don’t go back to some of the practices in the past that Harry and I had to grow up in. And I’ll do everything I can to make sure we don’t regress in that situation.”

According to royal expert Jennie Bond, the fleeting reference was deliberate but not deeply symbolic.

“The mention of Harry is indeed fleeting and I think it would be wrong to spend much time talking about it,” she told The Mirror. 

“But it does show that William hasn’t blocked his brother completely from his mind.”

“It was only natural for him to include Harry when talking about his childhood,” she added.
