Meghan Markle’s surprise appearance at Paris Fashion Week has reignited chatter about her rumoured fallout with Vogue’s powerful editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, though their latest encounter suggests the tension may finally be over.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, made a glamorous return to Europe for Balenciaga’s Spring/Summer 2026 show, where she was filmed greeting Wintour with a kiss on the cheek.
In the clip, the fashion mogul smiles and tells Meghan, “Beautiful, Cherie. You look amazing.”
The friendly exchange appeared to put long-standing feud rumours to rest. Speculation about a rift between the two began years ago, after Meghan’s 2019 stint as guest editor for British Vogue’s “Forces for Change” issue.
According to reports, Meghan later clashed with then-editor Edward Enninful and Wintour herself when a planned 2022 Vogue feature was scrapped.
Sources told Page Six that Meghan pulled out after her requests, including control over the photographer, writer, final edit, cover lines, and a global edition, were denied.
“Nobody gets that, not even Beyoncé,” an insider said at the time.
Following the disagreement, Meghan reportedly had a frosty virtual meeting with Wintour, who was described as “not interested.”
