Meghan Markle's Paris trip causes tension at Buckingham Palace

Meghan Markle’s surprise appearance at Paris Fashion Week has reportedly left Palace insiders “uneasy”, according to royal sources.

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, turned heads on Saturday night at Balenciaga’s Spring/Summer 2026 show, supporting new creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli. 

Dressed in a sleek white custom ensemble, Meghan’s front-row return marked her first European appearance in two years.

According to Tom Sykes of The Daily Beast, a former royal courtier revealed that Meghan’s re-entry into Europe has caused quiet tension.

“If they [Harry and Meghan] really plan to spend more time here, it changes everything,” the insider said. 

“It puts them back in the frame and that’s not what anyone expected.”

While Harry has returned to the UK several times, most recently for the WellChild Awards in September, Meghan has avoided royal territory since 2022.
