Prince William has shown his most vulnerable side yet, but not without trying to hold it together.
In the latest episode of Apple TV+’s The Reluctant Traveller, the Prince of Wales, 43, opens up to Eugene Levy about his wife Kate Middleton’s cancer battle and how it shook his sense of stability.
Speaking during a quiet pub chat, William reflected: “You maybe think to yourself, ‘It won’t happen to us, we’ll be OK.’ But when it does happen to you, it takes you into some pretty not-great places.”
While his words were calm, body language expert Judi James told Express.co.uk that the Prince’s subtle gestures betrayed deep emotion.
“She noted that William often looked down at the table, a move to shield and protect his inner feelings,” James said.
“His eyes were pink and watery, showing a hint of tears he was trying to suppress.”
She added that William’s self-comforting actions, scratching his beard, tapping his temple, and miming the “rug pulled from under your feet”, were tell-tale signs of emotional strain.
