Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have paid an emotional tribute to their late friend Dr. Jane Goodall, describing the world-renowned primatologist as a “visionary” and a “friend to us.”
The Sussexes released a moving statement following the death of the celebrated conservationist, who passed away this week aged 90.
Goodall, a pioneering scientist and humanitarian, was widely admired for her groundbreaking research on chimpanzees and her lifelong advocacy for environmental protection.
In their heartfelt words, Harry and Meghan remembered the personal bond they shared with Goodall, recalling how she met their son as a newborn.
“Dr. Jane Goodall DBE was a visionary humanitarian, scientist, friend to the planet, and friend to us,” the couple said. “Her commitment to changing lives extends beyond what the world saw, and also to what we personally felt."
"She held our son, Archie, when he was first born, and showered love and care to those who were privileged to know her. She will be deeply missed.”
