Thomas Markle has been left “trapped” in his Philippines apartment after a powerful earthquake struck the region, according to his daughter Samantha Markle.
The 80-year-old father of Meghan Markle moved to Southeast Asia earlier this year alongside his son Thomas Markle Jr., seeking a fresh start after years of public controversy.
But his relocation has now taken a frightening turn.
On Tuesday, a 6.7-magnitude earthquake rocked the Eastern Visayas region, leaving residents urged to move inland.
Thomas Markle, who lives on the 19th floor of a high-rise, is unable to walk and has been stuck inside his apartment since the tremor.
Samantha shared the details in a post on X, writing: “My father is stuck on the 19th floor of a building in the Philippines after a massive earthquake and he can’t walk and he is trapped.”
