Pop sensation Lola Young, who recently suffered a dramatic on-stage collapse, has pulled the plug on all her upcoming shows.
The 24-year-old singer, hailed as one of the UK’s brightest rising stars, stunned fans at the All Things Go Music Festival in Forest Hills Stadium on Saturday when she suddenly fell to the floor while performing her hit Conceited.
Medics rushed on stage and escorted her backstage, leaving the crowd in shock.
Although Lola later reassured fans she was “doing OK,” the collapse forced her to cancel a Washington, D.C. appearance the very next day.
Now, in a heartfelt Instagram post, she has announced an indefinite break.
She wrote: “I’m going away for a while. It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future. Thank you for all the love and support. I’m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know.
Obviously you will be entitled to a full refund. I really hope you’ll give me a second chance once I’ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger.”
The Big Brown Eyes hitmaker admitted to fans before the incident that she had been struggling in recent days, telling the crowd: “Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can’t continue … but you just gotta make lemonade.”
Lola Young’s most popular song is Messy, which became a breakout hit for the British singer.
The track not only reached number one on the UK Singles Chart but also gained widespread international recognition, making it the biggest streaming single globally by a British artist at the time.
Its success was further boosted by TikTok, where clips of the song went viral and introduced Lola’s music to a wider audience.
