Sabrina Carpenter music inspiration shocks fans and it's not Taylor Swift

Sabrina Carpenter's fans were surprised to learn her true musical inspiration is not Taylor Swift, as she often claims.

An X (formerly known as Twitter) user shared a clip that showed close parallels between the 26-year-old singer’s music videos and those of another pop queen.

The video showcases edited segments of Sabrina’s visual music representation, compared with scenes from Ariana Grande’s movies, interviews, and tracks.

The user captioned the post, “When someone says Sabrina is a taydaughter and not an aridaughter, so I pull out these parallels.”

Netizens rushed to the comments to express their sentiments about the debate. One fan wrote, “Short queens with powerhouse vocals like cmon.” Another well-wisher commented, “She’s [Sabrina] been an Ariana stan.”

While other followers pointed out how both of their albums share the same meaning and musical notes, “Emails I Can't Send = Yours Truly, Sweet n Sour = My Everything, Manchild = Dangerous Woman era (flop)."

Though fans speculate, Sabrina’s recent album, Man’s Best Friend, drew huge musical inspiration from Ariana's track list, especially the choice of chords, genre, and high-pitched vocals.

However, the Please Please Please hitmaker has credited the global sensation, Taylor Swift, in most of her interviews and also joined her as a supporting act on the 2024 Eras Tour.
