Sabrina Carpenter gave a befitting response to her critics amid the release of her seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend.

In conversation with CBS, the popstar seemingly hit back at people who criticised the choice of her music, stating, “The album is not for any pearl clutchers.”

Speaking with the show’s host, Gayle King, Sabrina added, “I also think that even pearl clutchers can listen to an album like that in their own solitude and find something that makes them smirk and chuckle to themselves.”

The 26-year-old singer stated that the album's only purpose is to be fun and enjoyable. The pop sensation advised the critics to listen to the album with a light-hearted approach.

Sabrina continued, “I think about being at a concert with however many young women I see in the front row that are screaming at the top of their lungs with their best friends.”

Disney star's new album, Man's Best Friend, features 12 tracks, with the main single Man Child released in June.

The song soon became a hit track in the US and UK, securing the number one spot on Billboard's top 100.

Sabrina's song Espresso played a significant role in gaining her widespread recognition, topping charts for months.

Espresso is part of her breakthrough album, Short n' Sweet, which was released in 2024.
