Sabrina Carpenter’s brand-new album Man’s Best Friend has just been made available for streaming and fans can’t help but be reminded of the iconic band ABBA after listening to it.

The songs, which seem to be chart-topping hits already are bringing music lovers back to some of the hits by the disco, pop-rock band.

In particular the twelfth track off of the album, appropriately titled Goodbye has made netizens reminisce on tracks like Voulez Vous and Dancing Queen by the Swedish group.

Although Sabrina has not outright stated that she was inspired by the band for this album, she has showered the iconic musical group with a lot of love, from naming her cats after two of the bandmates to frequently covering their songs.

This made netizens and diehard fans of the singer draw comparisons between the sound of her latest album and one of her favourite bands.

Taking to social media one user wrote, “I’ve had “Man’s Best Friend” on repeat all morning and it’s instantly an absolute favourite album of mine!! The ABBA vibe is immaculate. Sabrina you’ve done it again!! <33”, while another added, “sabrina successfully reheated ABBA’s nachos with goodbye.”

A third netizen commented “...the songs are very 70’s/80’s - pop, funk, country and disco. VERRYYY abba in parts. i can tell it will grow on me.”

Another user, who goes by “@reputationloml” added that although the lyrics are not deep, the production seems ABBA influenced.

What are some of the lyrics?

In her track My Man on Willpower, Sabrina sings in verse two , “My slutty pajamas not tempting him in the least / What in the fucked up romantic, dark comedy is this nightmare lately?
