Sabrina Carpenter, who recently released her album Man’s Best Friend, shared her views on backlash after unleashing the face of her new project.
Although the 26-year-old has been called out for controversial album cover, Sabrina seemingly did not understand the criticism.
After the Espresso hitmaker shared her artwork with her closer people, they gave a green signal to her including her parents.
During her appearance at CBS Morning, the songstress admitted people who don’t know her mostly asked “where are her parents?” when they “look at that photo.”
On the contrary, she revealed that her parents “saw the photo and they loved it” which featured her sitting on knees as a man (face out of frame) pulls her hair.
The Grammy winner was shocked upon witnessing the unprecedented reaction.
She noted that “between me, my friends, family and” other closer people, the artwork “wasn’t even a conversation.”
The pop sensation unveiled the meaning of the record’s cover that it is “being in on your lack of control and when you want to be in control.”
According to her interpretation, the new songs are about “humanity of allowing yourself to make those mistakes,” choosing situations that “will probably end up poorly.”
However, she insisted those experiences are “going to teach you something” in life.
Like Taylor Swift, the new album of the Please Please Please hitmaker sheds light on her past relationships.
However, her explanation of the tracks indicate she is not regretting any of her decisions, acknowledging her mistakes which she did knowingly.
