Rihanna, who shares two sons with A$AP Rocky, has seemingly disappointed her fans again after her latest move sparked an outrage.

While the 37-year-old singer shared a heartfelt message with her fans for her 20th anniversary, Rihanna skipped mentioning her upcoming album R9.

The 9-time-Grammy winner took to her social media accounts to write a long note. 

The singer marked two decades since she left her everything to “embark on a journey that started with the release of my very first body of music.”

Although she expressed her gratitude to everyone who “played a very crucial role in” her journey, fans rushed to the comment section to express their disappointment.

One of the X users “scrolled all the way to the bottom of the tweet… to see if she” mentioned anything about “new music.”

As the Wild Thoughts singer used a hashtag R20 after repeatedly writing 20 in her post, a fan was “really hoping” it was “the album name.”

The new record has been under works for nearly nine years which is why an admirer couldn’t believe they were “expecting to see a new music at the end.”

A netizen gushed about not wanting another album, insisting that she at least “tour with your old music.”

Instead of new tracks, the songstress announced her R20 merch and a vinyl album boxed set in honour of her long journey.

Previously, it was widely speculated that the delay in her new project is due to her recurring pregnancies as she welcomed RZA in 2022 and Riot in 2023.

However, she clapped back at the rumours, saying she can “sing.”
