KPop: Demon Hunters defied the odds yet again after its popular girl group, HUNTR/X, made history at the 2025 Video Music Awards.
On August 29, MTV (Music Television) announced the latest nominations for this year’s awards, and one particular group caught fans' attention.
The three-member band’s top-charting song, Golden, was selected for Song of the Summer, competing against global pop stars like Benson Boone and Sabrina Carpenter.
Netizens expressed their excitement about the record-breaking nod. One fan wrote, “We are going up up up it's our moment!!” Another follower penned, “ HUNTR/X better win.”
Originally sung by Audrey Nuna, Ejae and Rei Ami, the single, Golden, was crowned number one on Billboard for two consecutive weeks after its release on June 20, 2025.
Notably, HUNTR/X is a fictional K-pop girl group consisting of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, voiced by Arden Cho, May Hong, and Ji-youn, respectively. The group leads a double life as singers and demon hunters.
Aside from the chart topper, other tracks by the band include How It's Done, Free, Takedown, and What It Sounds Like.
For the unversed, KPop: Demon Hunters is an animated film produced by Sony Entertainment and distributed by Netflix.
