Lizzo is finally back with her new album release, which will going to be her “sound”.
The American rapper and singer reflects on her upcoming album and what fans can expect from her music.
“I think it's always going to be the Lizzo sound,” says the Truth Hurts hit-maker, born Melissa Jefferson, in her latest interview with PEOPLE.
Lizzo mentioned that she’s always that girl from the 90s and how she could not be, stating, “I posted a snippet of one of my new songs that's coming out very, very soon and somebody was like, 'The '90s are back.’”
Pink singer further says that she was “like, 'Okay.' I like to let the people decide what the sound is”.
When asked what’s been her writing process while creating her new music, Lizzo adds, “I love constructing and producing and creating just well-crafted music and songs.”
“So, I hope everyone likes it,” she concludes.
Her comment comes amid the release of the album's title track, which includes Meredith Brooks’ hit song, Bitch.
She posted this video on her Instagram with a caption, “This song is dedicated to the women who get called a bitch for having boundaries, for being sexual, for speaking up for themselves, for working hard and owning businesses…”
Meanwhile, Lizzo’s upcoming album will be released on June 5.
