On August 26, Taylor Swift made the most anticipated announcement on her official Instagram account in a joint point with partner Travis Kelce.
The couple announced they are getting married after the footballer popped the question in a dreamy flower garden, which was reportedly in their shared residence’s lawn.
The post instantly gained worldwide attention as it amassed 14 million likes in just over an hour.
After 19 hours of being posted, the announcement has 28 million likes and 2.1 million reposts.
The post consisting of five pictures, was captioned: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married”.
The news broke the internet and many other Instagram records.
The couple’s announcement now ranks at 10th in the list of most-liked Instagram posts posted by non-footballers.
The record also makes the Lover singer have the most-liked post ever for any woman on Instagram.
The record was previously held by Zendaya, when she wished birthday to her fiance Tom Holland, followed by Selena’s “Violet Chemistry” selfie.
Interestingly, The news comes two weeks after singer announced her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, on her partner Travis Kelce and his brother Jason’s podcast, New Heights.
