Katy Perry reveals Justin Trudeau was ‘surprising life twist’

Katy Perry is in a whirlwind of a romantic relationship with Justin Trudeau, but in reality, Perry's romance with the former Canadian Prime Minister was unexpected.

On Saturday, October 25, the couple officially made their first public appearance together, attending a cabaret show at Crazy Horse Paris.

Following the event, a source close to Perry revealed that the chart-topping hitmaker is “flattered” by Trudeau’s efforts to spend time with her amidst her Lifetimes World Tour through December.

“She’s focused on her tour, and Justin has made a real effort to meet her where she is — literally,” the insider told PEOPLE. “She’s flattered. He’s shown that he’s committed and really cares about spending time with her.”

The source said that the Canadian politician and activist values his connection with Perry, and so does she, putting them in a great place.

“Dating Justin is something she never saw coming, but she’s really enjoying this surprising life twist,” the Perry source added of Trudeau, who flew to Paris to celebrate Perry’s birthday on October 25, “and she loved it.”

The couple’s romance rumours started in July, and in early October, they were spotted kissing on a yacht near Santa Barbara.
