Jennifer Nettles breaks silence on Taylor Swift's lavish wedding

Jennifer Nettles has admitted she was completely caught off guard when an invitation to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s headline-making wedding landed in her hands.

The 51-year-old Sugarland star revealed she had no idea she would be among the reported 1,000 guests invited to the couple’s lavish celebration at New York’s Madison Square Garden last month. 

Despite previously collaborating with Taylor on the 2018 hit Babe, Jennifer confessed the invitation came as a genuine surprise.

Speaking to PEOPLE, she explained that the secrecy surrounding the ceremony was so tight that even guests were kept guessing until the final stages.

The Stay singer said it was an honour to witness such a significant moment in the couple’s lives, describing the experience as “super special”. 

She praised both the Lover singer and NFL star for reaching the very top of their professions and said she felt privileged to share even a small chapter of their love story.

The country singer also had glowing words for Taylor’s songwriting talent, calling her one of the defining artists of the modern era. 

Jennifer said she has long admired the global superstar’s achievements and remains proud of the work they created together.

The pair first teamed up on Babe, while The Bondsman actress previously revealed she had always hoped the Oplaite hitmaker would find lasting happiness. 

In a 2024 interview, she described the singer as a “lovely human being” and said she wanted her to experience love like anyone else.
