Taylor Swift honours Wham! Star with new album track

Taylor Swift thrilled George Michael’s former partner with news of her upcoming highly anticipated album, The Life of a Showgirl.

The 35-year-old pop icon paid tribute to Michael by including a track titled Father Figure, which features the iconic melody from his 1987 hit of the same name.

Kenny Goss, who was in a relationship with Michael from 1996 to 2009, told TMZ that he was confident the Wham! star would have approved.

Although the late singer never met Swift before his death in 2016, Goss said he was sure the pop icon would have admired her taking inspiration from his work.

The 66-year-old businessman admitted he was a fan of Lover hitmaker himself and was pleasantly surprised on her album.

Moreover, the songstress also opened up about the album’s creative choices in a recent New Heights podcast appearance with her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason.

She revealed that the prominent use of orange in the visuals symbolised the energy and vibrancy of her life during The Eras Tour.

When is The Life of a Showgirl scheduled to be released?

The Life of a Showgirl is set for release on October 03, 2025.
