Kevin Hart and John Cena sent fans into a frenzy after revealing their collaboration on another action-comedy film, The Leading Man.
According to Deadline, the duo will star as leads and produce the movie, which is based on a comic book series developed by Jeremy Haun and B. Clay Moore.
Written by Jon and Erich Hoeber, the plot follows an egotistical movie star, played by Cena, who discovers that his co-star, Hart, is an actual agent. His life flips when he realises that action stars are not real-life superheroes when it comes to saving the world.
Netizens gushed over their two favourite Hollywood comedy stars making an action-packed comeback. One fan commented, “LET’S GO KEV!” Another well-wisher wrote, “I can never get tired of them.”
The Leading Man is currently in the early pre-production phase. The producers at Netflix are keeping the cast and plot details under wraps.
Notably, in 2024, the pair first acted together in Hart’s film, Die Hart 2: Die Harter, where the former wrestler played a villain who goes after Hart.
On the professional front, the 46-year-old producer is currently working on his upcoming project, 72 Hours. It is a bachelor-themed comedy and is also in early development.
On the other hand, Cena will return as the titular character, Peacemaker, in the second part of the HBO Max series, Peacemaker.
