James Gunn has officially set the wheels in motion on the next chapter of the Superman saga, and it’s shaping up to be a blockbuster spectacle.
The 59-year-old filmmaker has confirmed production is underway on Superman: Man of Tomorrow.
The DC boss teased fans with a cryptic behind-the-scenes snap featuring a chessboard, a prison badge for none other than Lex Luthor, and even a cheeky bag of crisps.
After the massive success of 2025’s Superman, which soared past $600 million at the global box office, expectations are sky-high.
And this time, things are getting even more intense.
David Corenswet returns as the Man of Steel, while Nicholas Hoult is back as Luthor, but in a twist no one saw coming, the bitter enemies are forced into an uneasy alliance.
Their common foe is the terrifying Brainiac that is brought to life by Lars Eidinger.
The film also welcomes Adria Arjona as the powerful alien queen Maxima, alongside a packed cast including Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern’s Guy Gardner.
Set for release on July 09, 2027, the film is a key part of DC’s ambitious new era under Gunn, with upcoming titles like Supergirl and Clayface also on the horizon.
