Meghan Markle urged to pivot strategy as Netflix series falters

Meghan Markle’s Netflix series With Love, Meghan may have entered with buzz, but it’s struggling to keep its audience.

And now, a PR expert is urging the Duchess of Sussex to rethink her approach before the second season premieres this fall.

The lifestyle-focused series debuted in March to early fanfare, reaching Netflix’s Global Top 10 with 2.6 million views in its first week.

But the momentum was short-lived. Five months later, With Love, Meghan plummeted to the 383rd spot globally, with a modest 5.3 million total views to date.

PR strategist Edward Coram-James, CEO of Go Up, said the steep drop was unsurprising.

“The initial surge was driven largely by curiosity about Meghan Markle,” he told the Express. “But the content didn’t have enough depth to hold attention.”

“They watched because it was her, but they didn’t stay because the show lacked story depth or a unique angle to keep them engaged,” he said.

With Season 2 expected to launch in the fall, Coram-James predicted a similar fate unless there’s a major shift in creative direction.

“I don’t expect a big jump in rankings for Season 2,” he added. “Unless the content changes significantly, it may struggle to find a lasting audience.”

Instead, the expert suggested Meghan focus her energy on her lifestyle brand As Ever, which has seen strong early success.

“As Ever plays directly to her strengths,” he said. “It’s a space where her style, values, and personal brand naturally resonate with consumers.”
