MTV VMAs 2025: Lady Gaga gets most nods as Taylor Swift, Beyonce race for big title

MTV VMAs is one of the most followed nights of music around the year and this year’s nominations have just been revealed.

Ever since its inception in 1984, the awards have carried a staple honour that celebrate the best music artists of the year.

Along with accolades, many show-stopping performances and pop culture moments people have not forgotten have come out of this event.

From Beyoncé's pregnancy reveal to Kanye West snubbing Taylor Swift’s big moment, VMAs have seen it all.

Fans are excited to see what this year’s ceremony will bring as pop music has been reviving in mainstream media again.

Nominations have been revealed for the year 2025’s event that will take place on September 7 in New York's UBS Arena.

Lady Gaga, who released her album Mayhem this year, is leading the nominations with 12 nods, followed by her is the celebrated artist Bruno Mars with 11 nominations.

Kendrick Lamar, who swept awards at the 2025 Grammys, is third with 10 nominations to his name.

BLACKPINK's Rosé and Sabrina Carpenter tied with eight noms each.

Meanwhile another race has started between Taylor Swift and Beyoncé who have been nominated for the Artist Of The Year. Taylor currently has 30 wins while Beyoncé has 29 to her name, excluding her special honor as a recipient of the Vanguard Award.
