George Clooney defends Adam Sandler in blunt response to critics

George Clooney is one of the most iconic actors who has been known for embodying old-school charm and witty persona and while he has been receiving criticism, he is not one to stay quiet.

While defending himself, he also went on to defend Adam Sandler, who is known as a staple comedy guy in Hollywood, saying that he is a “really beautiful, wonderful actor” in Jay Kelly.

“This film, more than any film Adam has done, shows what a beautiful, heartfelt, soulful actor he is”, George said praising Adam.

Jay Kelly is the upcoming movie starring George Clooney and Adam Sandler that is set to release later this year.

In a recent interview with Variety, the actor was asked about the said criticism and he replied in a a cold manner holding nothing back.

“Do people say that I only play myself? I don’t give a s**t”, George replied briefly.

He added that “there aren’t that many guys in my age group that are allowed to do both broad comedies like O Brother [Where Art Thou?] and then do Michael Clayton or Syriana”.

O Brother, Where Art Thou? is satirical comedy drama-musical that follows journey of three convicts looking for treasure, on the other hand, absolutely opposite thematically is Michael Clayton, a legal thriller, which follows a fixer whos helps his clients.

George reiterated that if playing such dynamic characters means he is just playing himself then he does not care.
