Erika Kirk missed out on a Turning Point USA event which she was supposed to attend with the Vice President of the United States, JD Vance.
The 37-year-old was hit with a major setback after her husband Charlie Kirk was assassinated in broad daylight during a Utah event.
After her absence was reported, the CEO broke her silence and revealed a shocking reason she did not attend.
She turned to X (formerly Twitter) and penned down: “I was so looking forward to tonight’s event at the @universityofga with our Vice President @JDVance.”
However, the former model revealed she faced security threats, writing: “I take my security team’s recommendation extremely seriously” after the devastating incident of the family.
Erika expressed her gratitude towards Georgia chapter for supporting her.
A video from the event was shared which showed Vice President nodding as the host reveals that Charlie’s widow could not make it due to “very serious threats.”
Elsewhere in the interview, JD slammed the rumours about Erika smiling two days after her husband was killed. He stated that there are different ways to grieve a loss.
The 41-year-old explained that those who loose someone they love go through “weird combination of emotions.”
Meanwhile, the online community questioned the authenticity of the alleged threats being directed towards her while James appear before the public.
