Julianne Nicholson talks about her ‘Paradise 2’ character, Sinatra

Julianne Nicholson is part of the production team on Hulu's series Paradise 2, where she also stars as Sinatra, a political villain responsible for deceiving thousands of people.

Speaking with Deadline, the dual Emmy winner revealed the current production stage of Paradise 2.

“It’s going great. We’re in the end zone, and it all ramps up to this last block,” she said, similarly to how the first season ended. “It is a much different season this year, where we explore outside the bunker as well.”

Hulu’s Dopesick star added that the upcoming season has more action, filmed in different locations, with increasing energy.

“So, we’re in the thick of it right now,” the actress said.

Moreover, the award-winning Hulu lead revealed that it’s been fun playing her character, Sinatra, noting that she has never played a character like this before.

“The goal now is to find roles unlike things I’ve done before,” she said. “And to be the bad guy is fun — to own your power, to wear those suits, to put on those shoes, and own every room you enter has been fantastic and unusual and something to work on.”

Nicholson also shared that although the character didn’t come naturally to her, she had to cultivate it — but she “absolutely loved it.”

“I also care for her and feel like she’s a little misunderstood,” Nicholson added.
