Prince George is one step closer to following in his father’s footsteps, with reports suggesting the young royal has already been allocated a house at Eton College ahead of a potential move to the prestigious boarding school in 2026.
The 12-year-old is expected to begin his final year at Lambrook School this September, where he currently studies alongside his younger siblings, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven.
While no official confirmation has been made by Kensington Palace, Eton remains a strong contender for George’s next school, a choice that mirrors that of his father, Prince William, who attended the Berkshire institution from 1995 to 2000.
A key factor in the decision is believed to be Eton’s proximity to the Wales family's home in Windsor.
Marlborough College, Princess Kate’s former school, is also reportedly under consideration.
Should he attend Eton, George would begin boarding, marking a significant step for the prince, who has so far lived at home with his parents.
Preparations appear to be well underway, with George reportedly already assigned one of the school’s 25 boarding houses, each of which houses around 50 boys from different year groups.
The name of his designated house has not been disclosed. Prince William lived in Manor House during his time at Eton, as did Prince Harry.
