Ed Sheeran quietly dropped a massive surprise for his fans on social media ahead of his Loop tour.

The 34-year-old singer recently posted a video on his Instagram, teasing new music as he lip-syncs to the verse. However, he wasn’t alone; the clip also featured his fan favourite look-alike, Rupert Grint.

The Shape of You singer mouths the words to his new track, “Now and then I don’t want to see you again," and Grint continues the song, “I used to love you, now every day I hate you just a little more.”

Sheeran captioned the post, “I like this song - The real Ed Sheeran." Poking fun at their resemblance.

The duo donned matching Hawaiian button-ups, and with ginger hair, they looked like twins. The unexpected collaboration sparked reactions from fans, as one netizen wrote, “Video of the year already.’

Another well-wisher commented, “I'm screaming, I’M SO EXCITED FOR STALKER RUPERT GRINT’S COME BACK.”

The reference refers to a 2011 Ed Sheeran music video, Lego House, in which Rupert Grint portrayed a fan who becomes obsessed and impersonates the singer.

The 36-year-old actor who played the titular character of Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise previously confirmed that he often gets mistaken for Sheeran.

Netizens speculate that the Servant star might have lent his voice for the track, or he must have an important role in the music video.

Notably, the new song is part of an upcoming album by the Perfect hitmaker, titled Play, slated for September 12.

Currently, Ed Sheeran is preparing for his Loop tour, which begins on August 2.
