Wednesday showrunners sent fans into a frenzy after they revealed a surprise update about the third season.
In conversation with Collider, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar confirmed that the creative team is currently working on the next part of globally acclaimed series.
“We’re actually in the writer’s room for season 3, but now we of course stop to launch season 2.” The duo also admitted that they are “down the road a bit,” suggesting the script will be completed in no time.
According to the pair, the third instalment will also follow the same pattern as the first two, with eight episodes. However, they are not sure if Tim Burton will return to direct it.
“You know, so it just depends on his schedule. He loves to do it, he has such a rapport with the cast,” Miller said.
Notably, netizens are gearing up for the highly anticipated release of season 2, which will further explore Jenna Ortega’s character.
The show revolves around Wednesday Addams, who joins Evermore Academy and finds herself at the centre of a mystery that started with her parents 25 years ago.
Produced by Burton, the star-studded cast includes Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Gwendoline Christie, and Percy Hynes White.
For the unversed, Wednesday Season 2 is set to release in two parts, on August 6 and September 3.
