Jeremy Renner delighted Marvel fans by dropping a major hint at his potential return to the franchise.
In conversation with Empire, the 54-year-old actor gushed about his Avengers co-stars, saying, “I love all those guys, I love the character.”
He further discussed his desire to reprise his role as Clint Barton in the Disney+ series, Hawkeye, “I’m sure we’ll end up doing Season 2 [of ‘Hawkeye’], and do other things.”
The Mission Impossible star also revealed his health update following a tragic snowmobile accident. He confessed that he has recovered more than “150%” and is ready to perform stunts for Marvel.
However, the Oscar nominee admitted to having “limited flexibility and mobility” because of his age.
This isn’t the first time Renner has spoken about the revival of his character. In May, the Jason Bourne actor revealed the studio had asked him to reprise his role in Hawkeye season 2.
However, the producers “offered” him half of his salary from the first season because of the injuries he incurred two years ago.
In January 2023, Renner was run over by his snowcat (snow vehicle) when he stepped out to help a friend. The accident left him with 30 broken bones, a pierced liver, and a collapsed lung.
Later in his memoir, My Next Breath, the Wind River lead wrote about the traumatic experience and the journey to recovery. He also admitted to “dying for a brief moment.”
Notably, he is currently preparing for the premiere of his upcoming movie, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which is set to take place in September.
The film is the third instalment in the Knives Out franchise, starring Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc. It will be released on December 12.
