Wednesday, Netflix’s blockbuster series that showcases Jenna Ortega’s psychic abilities, has more than three seasons in the pipeline, and showrunner Miles Millar reveals it all.

Fans are looking forward to the premiere of the second season, which is set to debut in two parts starting in August 2025.

The series, co-written by Millar and Alfred Gough, is confirmed for a season 3 renewal, but there’s more to Wednesday’s haunting future.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Millar revealed the long-term vision, saying, "We’ll take as many seasons as Netflix wants to give us."

The screenwriter, who also co-wrote Smallville and Spider-Man, shared how the ten-season superhero show influenced his planning approach for Netflix’s hit.

“We’ll take as many seasons as Netflix wants to give us because we made a mistake with Smallville at one point,” he said. “We had a five-year plan, and then the show went on for 10 years.”

Millar mentioned they already have a plan for season three and beyond, as they aim to keep evolving and exploring the characters and their journeys into adulthood.

“The great thing about Wednesday is she’s got the bandwidth of an AM radio — in season one, just a hug could be emotional,” Millar said of the protagonist. “She’s unapologetically analog, and she’ll go into situations that she hasn’t thought all the way through. For someone who’s so smart, she also makes a lot of mistakes — which is fun. It makes her human and not feel like a superhero.”
