Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be feeling the heat as their $100 million Netflix deal reportedly comes to an end, and insiders say it’s finally sinking in just how much they’ve given up.
Their headline-making 2022 docuseries Harry & Meghan saw major success, but follow-up shows, including With Love, Meghan, failed to chart in Netflix’s top 300.
Combined with their Spotify breakup in 2023, the Sussexes now face dwindling revenue streams.
According to Daily Mail’s Rebecca English, banking on Meghan’s new lifestyle venture As Ever, known for its luxe teas, jams, and rose-infused merch, is a “big risk.”
She added: “These aren’t the kinds of gigs that will sustain their Montecito lifestyle.”
Royal commentator Richard Eden chimed in, suggesting reality might be catching up to the couple.
“They gave up taxpayer-funded security and multiple royal residences,” he said. “It’s dawning on them now what they’ve lost.”
Though Netflix hasn’t made an official statement, a source told The Sun the deal had “run its course”, with Meghan’s focus shifting to her own brand.
And while a one-off project down the line isn’t off the table, the streaming giant is unlikely to take a back seat to As Ever.
