Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s high-profile £78 million ($100 million) Netflix deal is coming to an end, and insiders say there are no plans to renew.
According to The Sun, the five-year contract, signed in 2020 after the Sussexes stepped down as senior royals, will expire in September.
A source close to the deal confirmed: “There’s no animosity from either side. Things have just run their course.”
While the couple’s most recent projects struggled to match the explosive success of their debut docuseries Harry & Meghan (still Netflix’s most-watched documentary launch), Meghan’s With Love, Meghan will still return for a second season this autumn.
Netflix’s latest Engagement Report showed the Duchess’s March 2025 release landed at No. 383, pulling in 5.3 million views.
Meanwhile, Harry’s December 2024 polo docu-series ranked a distant No. 3,436, with only 500,000 households tuning in.
Still, insiders insist Netflix is satisfied: “They got the hits they wanted early on. Harry & Meghan was a cultural moment, they knew it wouldn’t be replicated.”
With Love, Meghan did debut strong, entering Netflix’s Global Top 10 and ranking in the Top 10 for both the UK and US within its first week, with 2.6 million views and 12.6 million hours watched.
