Coldplay, headlining the Music of the Spheres World Tour, celebrated the legacy of music legend Ozzy Osbourne after his sudden passing on July 22, 2026.

The sad passing of Black Sabbath lead vocalist was announced in a statement by his family, confirming his death at the age of 76.

On the same day, the rock band dedicated a cover of Black Sabbath’s album Changes to the late metal singer during their Nashville show.

After paying the honours, Chris gushed about the departed soul: “Ozzy, we love you, wherever you’re going.”

Before the onset of the concert, a fan-filmed footage began to make the rounds on the internet where the group can be heard rehearsing the tracks.

The frontman of the band disclosed in his 2011 autobiography I am Ozzy that the song was based on guitarist Bill Ward’s divorce with his first wife.

Who wrote the lyrics of Changes by Black Sabbath?

The bassist of the group Geezer Butler and Bill collaborated to write the lyrics of the track, which was re-recorded by the Prince of Darkness in 2003 with daughter Kelly.

While the concertgoers were moved upon witnessing this, the online community appreciated the singer as one X user called the performance “AMAZING!”

Another netizen wrote a note for the late vocalist: “When Ozzy sang, we listened. When he screamed, we healed.”
