Prince Harry is getting a surprising show of support, from across the Channel.
Princess Delphine of Belgium, half-sister of King Philippe, has spoken out about the Duke of Sussex’s struggles, revealing she “feels sorry for him” and understands why he’s under so much pressure.
Speaking on the It’s Reigning Men podcast, Princess Delphine said she’s followed Harry’s journey closely due to her connection to his late mother, Princess Diana.
“Lady Diana was just part of my life when I was in England… then this death was just horrible,” she reflected.
“I feel very sorry for Harry because I think that was traumatic for him. I think Harry suffered so much, and I think he was traumatised and it’s coming out now.”
Delphine also defended Harry’s ongoing security concerns, saying they’re clearly tied to Diana’s tragic death.
“He’s just traumatised… and everybody’s bullying him but not thinking about his trauma,” she added. “I just find it terrible because he’s just been kind of left.”
The Belgian royal knows something about family tension herself, she’s the daughter of former King Albert II, who only acknowledged her after a court-ordered DNA test.
Despite winning the right to be titled Princess and styled Her Royal Highness, Delphine still isn’t in the Belgian line of succession, which she says is “still not right.”
