Queen Camilla set to be 'spoiled rotten’ by King Charles on 78th birthday

Queen Camilla is expected to be thoroughly spoiled by King Charles today as she celebrates her 78th birthday, but royal watchers shouldn’t expect any grand public events. 

According to former royal staffer Paul Burrell, Charles plans to mark Camilla’s big day with a low-key but luxurious private celebration, potentially at Clarence House or even their Scottish retreat, Birkhall.

Speaking to Slingo, Burrell revealed that King Charles is “very spoiling” and is likely to give Camilla “something special”, possibly even commissioning a piece of jewellery just for her. 

“He likes to remind her that she’s Queen and this is his reward to her for years of service,” Burrell explained, adding that all attention will be focused solely on Camilla during their private gathering.

While no public festivities are expected, the royal couple may indulge in a private dinner at one of their favorite venues like The Ritz, the location where they first stepped out publicly together. 

However, Burrell noted that dining out isn’t exactly simple for the royals, who require private rooms and tight security at venues such as The Ritz or Claridge’s to avoid public and press scrutiny.

Camilla’s birthday celebrations come as Buckingham Palace released a beautiful new portrait of the Queen to mark the occasion, but it seems the real party will take place behind closed doors, with King Charles pulling out all the stops to pamper his wife.
