Evan Rachel Wood took to her social media to announce the sad news that she will not be returning for Practical Magic 2.
In the original 1998 film, she played the eldest daughter to Sally Owens (Sandra Bullock).
"I am getting asked about this a lot, so l'll just clear it up now; I was not asked to come back and be in the #PracticalMagic sequel. l offered my services, even if it was one scene or one line,” she explained.
She added, "I was told they are re-casting. I am sorry to disappoint the fans. It was not in my control or my choice. I would have happily rejoined my sisters."
Her response comes after it was announced that Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest would be reprising their roles as aunts to Sally Owens and Gillian Owens (Nicole Kidman).
New additions to the cast include Joey King as Sally's daughter, plus Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod.
“After the death of their parents, two sisters move in with their relatives. They must use the gift of practical magic, which they inherited from their parents, to overcome obstacles in life,” reads the synopsis of the original flick.
