Nola King is facing a major shift behind the scenes as Dave Erickson, the showrunner, stepped down due to scheduling conflicts.
The series which has created buzz is looking for a replacement to move forward.
The Emmy-winning television producer who wrote the initial pilot script, revealed that it is impossible to continue at this moment.
The conflict in schedule has stemmed from Erickson's involvement in Tulsa King season 3 and Taylor Sheridan’s Mayor of Kingstown as showrunner.
Nola King production was expected to start in June at Paramount.
However, the sudden showrunner's exit has put the upcoming spinoff future at the stake.
In addition, Erickson being the showrunner of Tulsa King season 3 has wrapped up the shooting. On the other hand, filming for Mayor of Kingstown season 4 concluded in June.
Nola King will feature Samuel L. Jackson as a New Orleans crime boss, with his character expected to be introduced in multiple episodes of Tulsa King.
In addition, Jackson will start filming in July. Nola King executive producers have also incorporated Sheridan and 101 Studios’ David C. Glasser.
Jackson is reportedly playing Russell Lee Washington Jr., a newcomer who is allegedly going to come into conflict with Stallone's Dwight Manfredi across multiple episodes of the show's third season.
