Queen Elizabeth II reportedly called Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a “complete catastrophe” just weeks before her death in 2022, according to royal historian Sally Bedell Smith.

Despite claims from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex that they shared a warm relationship with the late monarch, new revelations suggest otherwise.

Citing conversations with Lady Elizabeth Anson, one of the Queen’s closest confidantes, Smith claims the Queen “saw straight through” Meghan and expressed deep regret over the turmoil caused by their relationship.

Speaking to guests at Balmoral shortly before her passing, the Queen allegedly remarked that Harry meeting Meghan had “become a complete catastrophe.”

This statement, described as uncharacteristically blunt, paints a stark contrast to the public image of harmony the Sussexes maintained.

The Queen was reportedly troubled by Meghan’s “bossy” behavior ahead of her 2018 wedding and saddened when the duchess refused to share details of her dress with her.

According to Bedell Smith’s new Substack, the Queen once feared Meghan “could turn into nothing but trouble.”

Harry and Meghan have not responded to these new claims.
