Netflix’s mega-hit, Emmy-winning series Squid Game recently released its third and final season, which consisted of only six episodes.
The latest season continued the storyline from the previous one.
The series wrapped up with blood, tears, and sacrifices. A lot of drama unfolded as the games became tougher, characters gave birth while others died, and the VIPs made their return.
According to the show’s editor, she had to cut many of the scenes involving the VIPs.
The VIPs remain one of the most controversial elements in the series, as they treat players as less than human and bet on a deadly tournament.
The VIPs were first introduced in Season 1 and later reappeared in the third season.
While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Squid Game editor Nam Na-young took the audience behind the scenes.
“Actually, there were more scenes with the VIPs,” Na-young said. “As I was editing, I did cut them a lot because when we're in the VIP room, the tension kind of releases. The contestants' emotions and reactions to the games were what I prioritized when editing.”
