After years of wait, the fans of the iconic fashion movie Devil Wears Prada, based on the novel of the same name written by Lauren Weisberger, are finally getting a sequel.
The original movie was released in 2006 featuring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt.
Fans of the movie were left delighted as it was announced that the original cast will be coming back for the sequel.
In addition, Kenneth Branagh will join the cast to play the role of Miranda’s husband.
The news was confirmed by Disney’s 20th Century Studios on Instagram.
The post featured two red heels with the caption “The Devil Wears Prada 2. Now in Production”.
A fan wrote “Meryl and Anne back together I’m already obsessed, can’t wait.”
Another wrote “This must be GOOD because Meryl has gone on record to say that she never does sequels”.
The movie follows the plot of a newly hired journalist Andy Sachs, played by Anne Hathaway, who joins Runway magazine. Meryl Streep plays the role of editor-in-chief of the magazine, Miranda Presley.
