Amazon MGM Studios Distribution has announced plans to release a $1 billion slate in 2026, signalling a major commitment to both theatrical and streaming content.

George Wilkinson, the company’s International TV Distribution Manager, shared the news at the New Europe Market (NEM) conference in Dubrovnik, Croatia revealing that 20 movies will be released in 2026, 10 of which will have theatrical releases.

The total production and marketing budget for this slate will reach $1 billion, emphasising the company’s significant investment in the theatrical space.

Wilkinson confirmed that no content would be withheld from distribution partners, marking a shift from earlier strategies where some titles were kept exclusively for streaming platforms.

Among the high-profile projects for 2025 are Red One, A Working Man, and The Accountant 2, with more films like Heads of State, The Pickup, and Play Dirty set to follow.

Looking ahead to 2026, Amazon MGM’s slate includes the sci-fi adventure Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling, alongside Crime 101 and the much-anticipated Masters of the Universe.

The company also highlighted its television offerings, including the new season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, with its $60 million-per-episode budget.
