King Charles and David Beckham made a surprise joint appearance at the opening day of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, sending a pointed message just days after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hosted Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz at their Montecito mansion.

The King and the former football star looked perfectly in sync as they teased a new collaboration with the King’s Foundation aimed at encouraging young people to explore careers in horticulture.

Beckham, who has been named an ambassador for the Foundation, wore a rose in his lapel, fittingly dubbed “The King’s Rose”, and praised its beauty while chatting with Queen Camilla.

“So beautiful, congratulations,” Beckham said as the Queen admired the bloom.

Beckham and fellow ambassador Alan Titchmarsh joined the royals to ceremonially unveil the Highgrove Shop stand, which is stocked with floral displays by the King’s Coronation florist Shane Connolly.

All proceeds go directly to support the King’s Foundation, now celebrating its 35th year.

And while the royal outing was all smiles, it came just days after headlines exploded over a supposed “secret summit” at Harry and Meghan’s California home, where they dined with Brooklyn and Nicola amid the younger Beckham’s rumoured rift with his famous parents.

Why did Harry and Meghan fall out with Beckhams?

The gathering also reignited interest in Harry and Meghan’s previous falling out with David and Victoria Beckham, despite the Beckhams attending the Sussexes' 2018 royal wedding.

Meghan allegedly suspected Victoria of leaking private stories to the press, which strained relations between the two power couples.
