A new insider report has revealed the real reason why the royal family remains firmly against reconciling with Prince Harry.
Following the Duke of Sussex’s emotional BBC interview earlier this month, a source close to Harry told Hello! Magazine that the core issue is simple: "There is zero trust."
According to the insider, members of the royal family feel that private conversations with Harry are no longer possible, fearing that anything shared could eventually be made public.
This deep mistrust, they claim, has "taken its toll" on the already strained relationships within the family.
The source added: "He sees things everywhere, he picks battles with everybody, and that's tiring. You can't live in permanent battle mode. You're a 40-year-old man. You've got to stop fighting the world."
In his BBC interview, Harry, 40, expressed a strong desire for reconciliation, saying, "I would love reconciliation with my family, there's no point in continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious, I don't know how much longer my father has, he won't speak to me because of this security stuff."
However, he admitted that any move toward healing would be in the hands of the royal family, adding, "If they don't want that, that's entirely up to them."
The Duke also described his loss in the Court of Appeal over his UK security arrangements as a "good old-fashioned establishment stitch-up" and suggested that the Royal Household had influenced the decision to downgrade his protection.
