Vin Diesel's real name sends fans reeling

The Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel made a shocking revelation about his name, and after all this time, fans got to know that it’s not his actual one.

The Hollywood tough guy’s name, Vin Diesel, matches his persona. Whenever you think of the high-octane action of smashing speeding cars, Diesel’s name comes to mind.

He adopted his stage name early in his career to make it suited to his tough-guy facade. He explains that ‘Vin’ is short for Vincent, the last name of his stepfather, and ‘Diesel’ is his nickname from his bouncer days.

When Diesel was a bouncer, he was given this name because of his relentless energy.

Known for his high-octane roles and iconic portrayal of Dominic Toretto, he then went on to reveal his birth name.

"You know what, it's not," Diesel revealed on The Ellen Show in 2005. “My real name is Mark Vincent.”

He dropped his name back then when the host, Ellen DeGeneres, couldn’t believe that that was the name on his birth certificate.

"I was a bouncer for nine years, and the name stuck,” he shared about his stage name. “We all had fictitious names just in case we got in trouble or anything."

Fans on social media reacted with a mix of shock and admiration.

Someone else on social media said that Mark Sinclair sounds like the name of a chemistry teacher, not a leading action hero.
