Blake Lively, who filed a sexually harassment case against Justin Baldoni, broke silence after her close friend Taylor Swift was subpoenaed in the ongoing legal crossfire.
The 37-year-old actress’ legal team released a statement to criticise the subpoenaing of the Gossip Girl alum’s friend Taylor Swift, calling her “a woman who has given a voice to millions all over the world.”
The Savages lead crew also condemned the suggestions made by Justin’s rep Bryan Freedman, calling them out for turning “a case of sexual harassment and retaliation into entertainment for the tabloids.”
Earlier, it was reported by PEOPLE that the 41-year-old filmmaker’s legal representative proposed the Blake Lively’s deposition to be held at “MSG (Madison Square Garden),” selling tickets to stream it.
Bryan admitted that the earning from the case will be donated “to organizations helping victims of domestic abuse.”
The statement asserted that the lawsuit is “a very serious legal matter, not Barnum & Bailey’s Circus.”
The Green Lantern star’s crew firmly denounced the defendants’ attempt to “publicly intimidate, bully, shame and attack women’s rights and reputations.”
They pointed out the “disturbing actions” of the billionaire men who strengthened their career “as female allies" and their team continues to "show their true colors.”
This comes after the 35-year was subpoenaed in the legal crossfire between Blake and Justin. However. Taylor’s rep revealed that she had no connection to the romantic drama except for the permission to use her song “My Tears Ricochet.”
The superstar’s team maintained that she “never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions.”
