Tom Holland makes cheeky comment about wife Zendaya’s role in ‘The Odyssey’

Tom Holland had a funny reaction when asked about Zendaya's role in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Odyssey.

During a Wired interview with his co-stars, the actor was asked about Athena's bond with Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, in the adaptation of Homer’s famous epic.

Reading a question about whether Athena had romantic feelings for Odysseus, the Marvel star gave a playful answer while referring to his real life relationship with Zendaya.

"Did Athena love Odysseus romantically?"

"No," quipped the the British star, "because she’s married to me."

The response left his co-stars in splits, with Damon adding, "Yep. Good answer."

In Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of Homer's epic, Zendaya plays Athena, who appears to Odysseus as he attempts to return home after years away following the Trojan War.

When asked why Athena chooses Odysseus, Damon said, "This is difficult in the context of our movie without giving things away. Because does Athena choose Odysseus or does Odysseus choose Athena?"

The pair will also appear together in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, following their first meeting while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017.
