Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce turn down Met Gala invitation: Here's why

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, who have been together since September 2023, decided to skip Meta Gala this year.

The 35-year-old popstar and her beau were absent at the annual event despite receiving the invitation to walk down the red carpet.

According to TMZ, the couple were unable to attend the May show because of clash in schedules.

The 14-time Grammy winner last made an appearance in 2016’s fashion event when she was a co-chair. However, her athlete boyfriend has no experience of the gala.

Fans were anticipated to see their favourite couple together as one questioned: “not touring and other nfl players showed up so busy with what?”

Another X user was not happy with the duo’s snub, writing: “wdym tay is on hiatus & it’s not even football season.”

A third one “nearly” had a heart attack after learning about the news, gushing: “omg don’t do that.”

Previously, the Bad Blood songstress and the NFL star were spotted hanging out together when they were caught on camera entering a restaurant on March 14. 

This gap in their public appearance raised speculation that they might be taking a break from their relationship.

However, according to recent reports, the sweethearts are spending quality time away from public’s eye.

Since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are going strong, the two have sparked engagement rumours. Their admirers want them to make their relationship official. However, there is no confirmation about them getting hitched.
